God’s In the Mess with Us!

Motherhood is hard!

I’m writing this blog post while sitting on a sectional sofa  ¾ full of clean clothes.

What I believe to be a sliver of lollipop sticks to the bottom of my foot.

My seven-year-old daughter gallivants around the house naked as the day she was born.

My eight-year-old currently overdoses on too many YouTube videos of kids opening toys today.

Dishes line all of the counters in my kitchen.

My husband doesn’t have a pair of clean socks, but he’s too sweet to complain about it.

There’s no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Click To Tweet

Jesus, in the mess, Christ loves

Some days just look this way.

It’s okay.

It’s okay.

It’s okay.

That’s what I keep telling myself over and over in my head, so I don’t fall into a miry pit of self-condemnation and utter depression.

Motherhood is hard.

I don’t mean that in a trite, “Oh it’s a challenge, but I’ll persevere sort of way.”

I mean it in the, “How in the world am I going to get out of bed today much less do All. The. Things.  on my list?” sort of way.

Hard. Challenging. Difficult.

But, God.

He’s here, my friends.

He’s here in the pit.

He’s here in the laundry.

He’s here in the chasing after that nude seven-year-old who absolutely does NOT want to wear pants today.

He’s here in all of it.

God does not back down from the hard times.

He does not say, “Sorry, your life is just too messy for Me.”

He specializes in the mess. Click To Tweet

It’s all throughout the scriptures, my friends.

God’s here and that’s enough.
